But I think CoD4:MW isn't going to work well at all compared to proprietary drivers. So I installed Arch Linux on it and the nouveau drivers actually work with N64 (kinda, Goldeneye was perfect then went unbelievably red and I never even got shot). I've been trying to make a period accurate gaming rig on this beastly XP laptop I got from a friend and while Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare is perfect RetroArch N64 emulation is a total bust. ![]() Just to find out this? Sorry for the rant I sound like a madman, i just went down the tech support rabbit hole last night. I already have halflife 2 on my windows 10 machine on steam, but thought it would be cool to do it on an actual time accurate pc with the big box copy. And then when i installed it of course had to get the drivers for wifi adapter on there, get the audio working which took a couple hours (swear to got it wouldnt work no matter what.) And when i finally get the chance to install halflife 2 it freaking installs steam too, from the disc I guess. Then i struggled to find a good version of windows xp and activating windows, ended up going with windows xp integral edition, had trouble for an hour getting it to boot on usb the way the guide said, ended up using rufus to put it on the usb and it immediatly. Anyways I got a free dell dimension e510 from my work, put an ssd in, a graphics card they were also throwing out, and new ram. ![]() ![]() It was 5:30 am here when I finally went to bed i got up for work the previous day at 7 am and had been up since, havent done that in a long time.
